Network Engineer
Cisco Network Engineer

Network Engineer II The primary focus of this position is to support to the data communications department in advanced technology issues dealing with networking and communication services. The selected individual will administer the network of Remote Access Servers, Domain Name Services, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, SNA Gateways and Simple Mail Transport Protocol to provide connectivity to network services. Responsibilities also include leading troubleshooting efforts on data network problems to provide timely resolution to data network issues. This individual will also review, design and perform data analysis of the data network infrastructure to provide the most efficient network on our business units. Requirements are a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, a minimum of 3 years of data communication and data networking equipment and systems work experience and working knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, Data Service Unit/Channel Service Unit and modems required.

Network Engineering Manager
The Network Engineering Manager will direct and oversee all aspects of the Network Engineering Department including providing 24x7 support and operational availability of Kirkland's LAN/WAN infrastructure. This position will direct the administration, coordination, and execution of maintenance for all mission critical network LAN/WAN components. This position will provide, as needed, Network Engineering-related assistance, in the absence of existing resources or the event of unexpected or unplanned service demands including catastrophic disasters or prolonged unavailability of the firm's LAN/WAN infrastructure.

The Network Engineering Manager will recruit as needed, develop, maintain, and review staff members for the Network Engineering Department to ensure consistent and professional delivery of superior quality services and serve as the first line of departmental management for escalation of issues arising from the Network Engineering Team and/or the community of users who consume departmental services. This position will compile, track revisions, and periodically report variances for annual expense, Engineering , training, and salary budgets for the Network Engineering Department to the Sr. Infrastructure Manager. This position will also author monthly status reports detailing staff activity, production volumes, involvement in special projects or initiatives, progress on staff development plans, and critical departmental issues and will Conduct regularly scheduled staff meetings with members of the Network Engineering Department. Additional responsibilities include acting as a liaison , as required, with service requestors to discuss operational, technical and service level issues regarding the functions and Engineering of the Department; improving the efficiency of all costs and expenditures required to maintain the Network Engineering Department on an ongoing basis; defining and documenting departmental Best Practices based on industry and organizational standards; and contributing ideas to and provide technical and Engineering input for tactical and strategic initiatives to the Sr. Infrastructure Manager for inclusion in strategic planning initiatives under the direction of the Chief Information Officer. This position will also establish/maintain business relationships with vendors and maintain functional proficiency in firm-standard software, hardware and related technologies.
The successful candidate will have 9+ years general technology experience and 7+ years of increasing responsibility in network engineering in a medium-sized company with multiple sites located domestically and internationally. Must have the ability to travel (domestically and internationally) as necessary. This position requires a BS in Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience and must be Cisco certified.

Additional requirements include experience with:

• Cisco 7200, 3700, 3600 & 2600 routers, and 6500 & 3600 switches
• Cisco PIX firewalls, VPN concentrators, CiscoWorks, Cisco SecureACS, and RADIUS
• TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, NAT, Access-Lists, VLANs, DMZs, DNS, WINS and DHCP
• IP-VPN-based networks

• Cultivate client relationships by identifying opportunities, marketing services, managing client expectations and ensuring client satisfaction. Develop strong business relationships with new clients; maintain and grow business with existing clients.
• Team effectively with the network/security engineers and the client support staff to maximize defined sales strategy and ensure a high level of quality.
• Apply a client driven and consultative approach to selling/managing the account.
• Develop, manage and leverage strategic business relationships with technology partners.

REQUIREMENTS:
• An aggressive self-starter with excellent prospecting, relationship building and closing skills;
• Demonstrated consultative selling skills in a professional services environment;
• 5+ years selling network/security or related solutions (services/hardware/software);
• Proven understanding of Information Technology solutions and the business and technology case for buying them;
• Successful track record of closing business utilizing a consultative selling approach.
